Bloggers Day at Call for Couture Event

Press release for CfC Event:

The Call for Couture Event is the newest event brought to you by CHIC Management, the event planning company that brought you the Black and Blue Fair (June 2010), the Summer of Love Fair (July 2010) and the Platinum Hunt (August 2010).

It will take place between October 10th and October 31st at an undisclosed location! (Click here for the subscribomatic location and we will deliver the Landmark right to you once we're open ;]) It will include 150 brands showcasing new and exclusive items. Not only that but as WELL as that we will have approximately 100 auction items available to bid on. The winning bid at the end of the three weeks will be split in half, 50% going to UK registered charity The Samaritans (www.samaritans.org Reg charity number: 219432) Designers will be playing with the relationship between couture (auction items) and pret-a-porter (the new exclusive releases that will be available for you to buy!)

The auction items will be showcased in three fashion shows (dates and location to be announced too!). These shows will be filmed and broadcast on www.chic-management.com

This is a CHIC Management (Keira Seerose, CEO) event hosted on the Project Donate sim.. Please note that only the auction items have a charitable aspect. The fashion shows will be run by Anabella Ravinelli. The CHIC Management team involved in this event are Keira Seerose (CEO), Kristy Seerose & Prue Genira (Event Assistant) and SpoiledRotten Mahogany (Website Coordinator).

Bloggers were allowed in for a sneak peek yesterday and O.M.G. people! (Yes, I took photos and yes, I will blog them later today!)

There are over 150 designers showing there wares at the event. Many top SL designers are involved. Just to name a few:

Truth Fashion, *League*, Maitreya, {Zaara}, Glam Affair, *G* Field, SLink....and the list goes on and on.

Make sure you check out this amazing event. Srsly, if you havn't made it to any other of the awesome events put on by Chic, this is the one you do NOT want to miss.

RL/SL Artist Misprint Thursday Collaborates with Peace Partners

I received the following from my friend, Misprint Thursday. Sounds like a worthy endeavor. Misprint is an amazing visual artist and now her talented voice is being used in a positive way. Please read and spread the word.

Misprint Thursday is an artist in SL and RL. She has a track called "Run In Freedom" on a fundraiser album "Vision Of Peace".  She would like to promote the album in SL which will raise funds and awareness for Amnesty International and War Child Canada. She is asking the SL community to check out the project and support it by speaking about it and mentioning it in their blogs. tweets, websites etc. Please post a link to your blog to promote the album and the project. It is a worthy cause.

ABOUT PEACE PARTNERS:

It started out in early 2009 as a nebulous thought that kept tickling the mind of Canadian musician, Patrick Lajeunesse: Could he use Indaba Music, an on-line collaborative-music site, to bring together musicians from around the world to write and record original songs dedicated to the twin ideals of peace and freedom?

Patrick proposed his idea in an Indaba “group” message…and the rest, as they say, is history!

Over the past year, more than 60 musicians from a dozen different countries have collaborated on and contributed 40 songs to Patrick’s “Peace Partners” project.

These collaborations are truly international in scope. The various Peace Partners composers and collaborators (only a few of whom have ever met in “real life”) hail from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Italy, Germany, and Australia…to name but a few of the globe-spanning locations these incredibly talented individuals call home. Taking full advantage of modern technology, they composed, discussed, arranged, recorded, refined, mixed, and mastered their musical creations exclusively through on-line collaborations – sharing initial ideas and, ultimately, individual musical contributions, over the Internet.

The resulting Peace Partners songs are as diverse, musically, as the nationalities of their creators – ranging from pop to classic rock to classical to “World” music to jazz-fusion to “good ol’ rock & roll”…and everything in-between.

Project Donate – UNICEF Pakistan Flood Crisis Fund


Dear lovely SL merchant! <3

I know this is very short notice but this may be something we can do on a regular and ongoing basis. UNICEF are currently raising funds for the Pakistan Flood Crisis. Millions of people have been affected and thousands are without homes.

If you’d like to be part of this fund raising effort you could donate all or part of the proceeds of an item/s (I’d like to request at least 50% of your item/s – can be exclusive, existing, discounted whatever you like!) The point is to raise as much money as we can in the 2 week period.

I will be donating 100% of the proceeds of one hairstyle and doubling the amount raised off my item to go towards this cause. I’ll advertise the fund through my update group and list all the merchants involved. I have ordered a sim “Project Donate” from which you will vend your items (in addition to your own locations). You are free to landmark to your own stores from this location which will be entirely removed from my own sim.

I’ve created an account “Unicef Rainfall” which will collect the proceeds. Once you confirm you’d like to participate I’ll send out all necessary split scripts etc. You will also need a group space available to place your item/s.

Fashion Fest 2010 - Calling All Designers!

The All-Stars Relay For Life team would like to cordially invite you to participate in our 3rd Annual Fashion Expo, now called the Fashion Fest! Fashion Expo 2009 was an incredible success, raising over 1 million lindens for the American Cancer Society and bringing thousands of shoppers to some of SL's BEST Fashion Designers!

Fashion Fest 2010 will take place July 2nd - July 11th, 2010 and combines a mixture of different designers and talents into one area that will span 9 sims! Everything from clothing, to hair, to shoes, to skins, to shapes, to jewelry, to poses and more will be represented! If it's about FASHION, we'll have it.

This year's theme will be SL's Back to the Future! Each sim will be a different location and point in time and the teleport directories will be designed to look like time machines. Once inside the shops, the theme stops.. so the shop's interiors are all designer's fashions and selling your designs.

Fashion Expo 2010 promises to be bigger and better and full of surprises! If you are interested in showcasing your designs at the Fashion Fest, fill out the Fashion Fest 2010 Registration Form, return it to Nikki Mathieson and reserve your spot today. The spaces will fill up fast! We hope to see YOU there!
