It's Good to be Queen

It is good to be Queen. As women, we sometimes sell ourselves short. No one takes us off the throne if we don't let them. People will be abusive, disrespectful, and just cruel and hateful. We all have that choice and ability. Some of us just choose to be otherwise. Whatever the decision is at any given moment, to be kind or cruel, the recipients of that behaviour also have the ability to accept or reject that treatment.
I, for one, will not let anyone treat me with disrespect. That is my choice. You have that choice, as well. I like sitting on up here on my Queenly Throne. It's where I belong. It's where all women belong. There is another chair beside this one. Make sure you choose someone worthy to sit next to you.
This goes for all of us, not just the women. But as women, we seem to have more difficulty with self-esteem. It is important to realize that we are as strong as we allow ourselves to be.
Now get out there and conquer the world! Or at least our little corner of the grid. Don't wait for someone to come along and give you permission to do anything. Will it be lonely? It might be. But when that person comes along that can not only handle your strength but encourage it, life will be more than you ever dreamed it could be.

Fairytale? Maybe. But worth the wait and the happy ending.

  1. Great post... I like this quote:

    Self-respect cannot be hunted. It cannot be purchased.
    It is never for sale. It cannot be fabricated out of public relations.
    It comes to us when we are alone, in quiet moments, in quiet places,
    when we suddenly realize that, knowing the good, we have done it;
    knowing the beautiful, we have served it;
    knowing the truth, we have spoken it.

  3. Joonie, as I was reading your post, I just kept nodding. There is so much truth in there, and it's truth we seem to forget so easily, at least I do. Thank you for the reminder!

    Here's to self love, self respect, and especially to happy endings. :)

    xoxo,
