New Truth Hair!

This is a bit late, but RL has been insane. Even more insane is thinking I would stay away from SL when I saw the email for Truth with new hair! So, of course, here I am, sharing with you the incredible goodness of Truth. =)

First is Valerie. This is my absolute favorite of the 3 styles. I love the flippiness (?) of the hair and the way it falls forward over the eye just a little bit. This style is new for me as I almost never purchase hair without bangs and preferably over the entire eye. But I fell in love with this hair the second I put it on. Very feminine, very sexy and very free feeling. I love the way it moves.

I had to show you the way the hair is parted and then falls over to the side. I love the layering and the way the they fall down the neck and shoulders. Really pretty! Can be played down for casual or played up for more formal occasions.  Very versatile.

This one is called Drew and for my facial features is probably my least favorite, only because I like more hair around my face. This could almost pass for a short do from the front, but then turn around and O M G, you have the prettiest ponytail I've seen in a while.

Don't you just love this? I tried to get a better shot, this one doesn't do it justice. It's just beautiful and high on the head. Nice change from the usual low on the neck placement. And it is beautifully thick and sexy.

 

The last one is Michelle.  Michelle has beautiful long tendrils in the front that curl with just the right amount of sexiness that makes you feel sweet and innocent and yet totally aware of who you are and what you are capable of.  ;)  In the back is a beautiful updo.

How does he do this? Isn't that gorgeous? I love love love the long tendrils in the front and back. The kind that tickle the skin and are make you feel irresistible.

My Mom used to tell me, when I had something I had to do that I was a little bit afraid of or unsure of, to "walk in like I own the place."  When I wear Truth hair, that's exactly how I feel. ;-)  What are you waiting for?

A Place

I was ready to log off when I realized I hadn't taken a pic yet. I had no idea what I was going to do, so I went exploring. I found...nothing. Nothing new anyway. I was ready to give up when I did a bit of profile perving and found this place in someone's picks. It's called Woods of Whimsy. This is how it is described when you add it to picks.

I needed a place to just be for a while and look back a little bit, look at today, and wonder about tomorrow. That reminded me of this poem. The author is Unknown.

Mad Hatter

I'm usually pretty conservative in the clothes I wear. Nothing too trendy or different unless it's for a photo shoot. But I absolutely fell in love with this hat! It's both hat and hair by Philotic Energy. I got the message about it earlier today and got there as soon as the TP would let me. (hat pick below)

I stared at it a while and then decided to just get it already! I've worn it all day. :)  And the outfit came from UK Couture. I hadn't been there in a long time but a friend tp'd me there and we had a shopping spree! We talked and laughed and had a great time looking at clothes.

 

All in all it was an awesome day/night in SL. Thanks to all of you who made it so much fun today!

I Feel Pretty!

Yes, it's that time again. Truth Hair! I know Truth is very popular. I know his stores are always crowded, especially on hair release day. And I know there's a reason for that. His hairs are amazing and well made. But the real reason I love Truth hair is because...well...they make me feel pretty...oh so pretty! I bet that's part of the reason you love them, too!

Enough jibber jabber..on with the hair!

This is Leona in champagne. I love the side pony and the wispiness. It's very feminine. I love the over the eye part. Very smexy and innocent all at the same time. Goes perfect with my Curio Elf skin.

Mena in Swedish. This is an updo in the back, but from the front it looks like a short do with beautiful wispy pieces framing the face. I love the messiness of it compared to Leona. A fun, smexy look for Summer.

Fearne in Champagne. This one moves more than the others and is perfect for those breezy Spring and Summer days. It's just the right amount of movement. I tried to capture that in this photo. Held together at the side by a swirl of hair. That anchors the hair to allow the rest to move around gently and at the same time have a neatness to it.

Inventory cleaning can be so enlightening! I've found things I had totally forgotten about. Like this outfit from Truth. It's called Veruca Salt and according to the properties screen, it was done in 2008, but it's still so adorable. I also ran across these West hi-tops he made in 2009 for hair fair.

Everyone knows I love Truth, even Truth. Enough about that. But I have a tendency to think Hair when I think about Truth. That is just wrong. And not the Truth about Truth at all. (You knew I had to word play on his name eventually :p)

My point is I have a tendency to catagorize content creators and what they do. Like hair, skin, prefabs, clothes, etc. I don't get the full benefit of their creativity when I do that.

So go get your Truth on and while you're there, take a look around at all the other things Truth does besides hair.

Tiny Bird Group Gift!

I had no clue what my blog post was going to be about and I was totally uninspired. So after deciding I wasn't going to blog tonight, I started cleaning my inventory. (remember, it's one of my suggestions against SLove a few posts down) Anyway, I opened up my inventory and immediately something caught my eye.

I had no idea what it was so I clicked wear and this cute basket with Easter eggs dropped into my hands with this gesture! How adorable! So I thought I would do a kind of Spring-y, Easter-y post. After changing clothes and getting all happy, I noticed that the eggs, when I hovered over them, gave me the option to click them. I wondered if maybe tiny little chicks would hatch or something (cute but boring and done to death) or just what. So I click and ... OMG...it's hair! A group gift of the cutest hair! Below is one that comes in the Light Blondes pack - Ash Blonde.

Well, then I had to click another egg, right?! This pack was called Unnaturals. Below is Lavender and Light Blue. The other colors in this pack are Cotton Candy, Grass, Strawberry Blonde, and Teal.

So that's pretty awesome, right? Right! But wait..there's more! 9 total hair packs! With 6 colors in each pack!!! *faints* That's 54 hairs!! Below is Rich Brown from the Dark Browns pack. I didn't open all of them because I wanted you to see the coolest thing! Once you open a pack, the eggs are broken open! See below? Isn't that just the coolest way to package this gift!

Winging It

SLove is Blind

I've been around SL long enough to have learned a few things. If you're like me, you have to learn from your own mistakes, so nothing I say here will probably make any difference to anyone. LOL  But I'm going to put it out there just the same. I didn't listen either.

When it comes to SLove, it can hit pretty hard. And when it does....look out... you're in for a bumpy ride ahead. SLove isn't bad necessarily. It can be a lot of fun, romantic, emotional, and you always have a date. Those are important things in any social situation. And then there's the friendship that hopefully follows or maybe came first. Who doesn't love the feeling of being in love? We won't mention the pixel sex...oops..I just did.

But, and there's always a but, just as intensely as you fall IN SLove, you will fall OUT of SLove. And it's amazing how painful that can be. Just crazy intense. So, in looking back, I have realized some "missteps" I'll call them, that, had I known better, might not have happened.

So let's begin our observation by looking at the unsuspecting couple below. They look innocent enough. Just a sweet little dance between friends, right? WRONG. This is the beginning of all that is dangerous.

You see, they don't know it, but that beautiful scenery, the music in the background (first rule: do not listen to the mushy music playing in the background. Before you know it, you'll be talking about how this is YOUR song) is only there to manipulate you into feelings for that other person. And it all starts here:

Before you can say "what's happening?" THIS happens. A little closer, a little sexier, a few more emotions manipulated, and the closer the camera moves in to capture this moment....THE moment that will define you two for all eternity...or 6 months, whichever comes first.

Finally, we come to the place below. By this time, it's really too late. You have been sucked in too far now. At this point, you're just going to have to ride it out. Might as well not fight it...it's got you by the vajaja and you're on your last breath of sane air for a while.

But I didn't come here to leave you at this place. Oh no...Sistah Joonie is here to help. There are some things you can do to prevent these feelings from developing in the first place. It's difficult and only the very strong can stay the course. But it can be done.  Ready?

First, never zoom in on the two of you. Below is a safe distance. You can kind of see yourself with that hot avi, but you can't really see his hands all over you or that that dance animation is full of hidden touching..here, there, here again....

Why even look at that? It's not really real, you know. Just manipulation. Try to remember that. Make it your mantra. not real...not real...not real....  Yes, the feelings are real. So what we're trying to do is keep those nasty little feelings in check. Not looking closely is the first step in admitting your powerlessness.

Better yet, don't just pull your camera focus away, but put the two of you off to the side out of your main focus and off to the periphery. Now focus on what you do see.  *snaps finger* I see you peeking over there to the right..get your eyes on the house.  There..that's better.

There are a few more tactics that help. One is finding other people to stare at on the sim. If you are using Emerald, the radar screen is a PERFECT tool to help stay focused on other people, read their profiles, make up stories in your head about them, etc. Even take pics of them. Unless they're a couple, then immediately pan out. I know, but romance has a creepy way of seeping into your psyche when you aren't looking. Must.Stop.Romance.

Here's another pretty picture. See how this works? It's kept me engaged in other activities long enough to not pay attention to .... whatever that other thing is. Um..anyway. If you run out of photo ops, work on your inventory! That always needs some attention. Or IM friends in yahoo, work on your facebook page, just do anything other than the top 3 pics, no matter how innocent it all looks. Just don't look! Gouge your eyes out if you have to. Just don't look!

It would be better just to stay home and read a book. Boring but safe. Yes, remember there is danger out there. Mutant pixels just waiting to infiltrate your heart. Once they have your heart, they attack your brain. Trust me. It will render you totally stupid. You will turn into a moron. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Now run along and practice. This stuff doesn't come naturally. We must fight til the death.....of our hearts.

I was feeling a little melancholy tonight and asked a friend where there were some cool places to just be.

He passed me an LM for a place named China. I wasn't going to go because my mind immediately went to some crowded place and I was looking for solitude. But he usually has great LMs, so off I went. I'm so glad I did.

That's exactly what I thought of when I rezzed in. Beautiful watercolor paintings. Absolutely gorgeous.

I loved finding this soft pastal sofa in the middle of all the black, white, and grey. I'll definitely go back there when I can spend more time.

It isn't the Nameless Isle or ChouChou, but it's close to having that feel. Check out China next time you're inworld.

Any day in SL is a good day when music is involved. We are so fortunate to have so many awesome musicians to choose from on a daily basis. Just check events/live music under search and you will see, for any hour of the day or night, live music happening in SL. And very talented artists, too.

Do yourself a favor and go check any one of many musicians in SL. Not sure who to listen to? Check out my friend, Tessa's music blog. She's been around SL and live music and knows what she's talking about. Okay...so maybe she makes it just look easy. Whatever, she just started her blog Tessa's Takes. Go...now!

Wicked

Lots of things have been rumbling around in my head lately. Unfortunately, or fortunately maybe, it's too late and I'm too sleepy to even attempt a post that sounds slightly insightful or intelligent. So here's another blatantly self promoting pic of ME. 

I will say that lately I have been playing it very safe in SL. I think I always have kind of colored within the lines since I rezzed 3.5 yrs ago. I've had my difficult times and have run into a bit of drama...but I usually just walk away from it rather than indulging in it.

Lately I've been wanting to stir things up a bit. No, not the pot so to speak, but Joonie. Joonie is stuck in a rut as far as how she looks and what she wears and what she does with her time in SL. So, of course, Joonie is getting bored. And when Joonie gets bored, she does stupid things.

You know what they say...no boring times just boring people. I have to agree. So boring and bored Joonie is going to come up with something new. No idea what yet. Hopefully not too stupid.

Until then, this will have to do. Joonie in black feeling a bit emo. But just a bit. No razor blades need to be hidden. In fact, Joonie is feeling awesome lately. I think she's finally returned to herself 100%. I know, that took forfreakingevah! But the emotional toll that SL can dish out has surprised no one more that it did me. Had I known what treacherous waters I was stumbling into...well to be honest....I would have just kept on stumbling into them. It was fun while it was fun.

Here's to more fun! Only this time....it will really be fun.  follow? I didn't think so. Me either.

Sooo Sick of Green

So I'm wearing black!

I decided to do an experiment involving ...and not involving...breast enhancement. I wear Curio skins most of the time. Because Gala hasn't created breast enhancements as an option on her skins, so far, most of us who wear Curio skins go to *Linc* and purchase one there. At least, that's what I did. I've worn it ever since I bought it and never really gave it another thought, until tonight when I was taking pics.

Below is Joonie WITH breast enhancement. (as if you needed to be told that)

I dunno. I think I like the one without enhancement. *shrug* Enough boobage talk. On with what I'm wearing so this can in some way resemble a fashion post. ;)
